The Alzheimer’s Foundation is the charity I chose because I love what they believe in. They not only set aside money for scholarships and grants, but also provide support for those struggling with Alzheimer’s and their loved ones. Directly on their website there is information about the different stages of Alzheimer’s and tips on how to deal with the emotional stress that comes with this horrible disease. They also have a toll free help line so those who are struggling can call at any time and have a professional to talk to. They provide the locations of memory screenings so that anyone who feels they may need one can have easy access.
Currently the AFA is funding The Haddash Medical organization in Israel, the Litwin-Zucker Research Center for the Study of Alzheimer’s Disease at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research in New York, the NYU-Winthrop Hospital, and Emory University’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. Each of these medical and research centers is trying to better the lives of those living with Alzheimer’s. For more information visit the Alzheimer’s Foundation Website https://alzfdn.org/
